Move Management

The University currently has a preferred-vendor relationship for moving services.  The move vendor provides superior customer service through extensive logistical support in relocation services to the University community.

University employees who need an item moved and require assistance from FP&M (Facilities Planning and Management) D&CS (Design and Construction Services) must put in a work order.

The link can be found at: A request can be submitted in two categories:

  • Just-Do-It (JDI) Request – This is the fastest project delivery method. The work will be scheduled and an estimate is not required. Customer must provide an index for direct billing purposes.
  • Estimate Request – A cost estimate is required prior to authorization of an index and scheduling of work.

Once your request is reviewed, we will require an index from the customer's Business Affairs Officer, and the project request is turned into a work order and assigned to the Move Manager. The Move Manager will contact the customer within three days to confirm the scope of work and schedule any meetings. The move typically can be scheduled within two weeks, unless the customer has a pre-determined move schedule.

The Move Manager also works with the Project Managers, who are responsible for major capital projects. The Move Manager will coordinate with the Project Manager to provide logistical support to moves related to the project.  This may include temporarily housing the customer's items, or phased moves for projects with longer timeframes.

Please note: If your request requires disposal of equipment, sale or surplus, this will need to be approved by Denise Nault in Property Management.  You will also need to complete the appropriate form based on the type of action requested.  Forms can be found at:  For additional information on this process, please email Denise at
